Where can I get the daily evaluation of my answers for the UPSC Mains?
This question is very subjective and has two connotations:
First, you are WRITING at home and asking for any online platform where you could make your answer reviewed.
Second, you are asking for any Coaching Institute which is providing the UPSC Answer Writing program.
If talking about online platforms then there are many like IAS BABA, INSIGHT India, Forum IAS you can take benefit of any platform but there you will get the peer review.
In answer to your second thought, I would suggest you EDEN IAS, answer writing Programme. It is providing two kinds of answer writing programs.
Beginners Answer Writing Programme: SUGAM
Advanced Answer Writing Programme: STEPS
Why you should join any institute for answer writing let me elaborate you!!!
A good answer writing program not only guides you but can also help you maintain a timetable.
Besides, it will also tell you where you have fared well and where you need to be working more. In any case, having a regular report card, reviews, and remarks on your answer writing is always going to help you in all the possible ways.
You will get a guide and mentor and then you will also be able to periodically get your answers checked by them. Then, you can also go for peer review where aspirants check each other’s answers.
The bottom line is that you should not keep writing answers solely but get feedback as well.
You will also be able to learn to manage time while attempting the Mains examination mean that you know how to allocate the right amount of time to each question so, that you can complete all the questions within 3 hours.
Feedback is a very important part of the learning process and good feedback can help you with course correction in your preparation, and also help you in the evaluation of progress in your answer writing practice.
I have to say, the most important aspect of the preparation is dedication and consistency. Hence, stick to the plans you have made no matter what. So according to my experiences and analyzing my peer's experiences I am sharing the revision plan for the next 3-To 4 months.
Newspaper reading
Current affairs are the most important aspect of the prelim exam. But you cannot go back to the time and read the left news so for feeling this gap you could choose any of the current affairs monthly compilation and revise and prepare from there. I would recommend Vision IAS.
It is advisable to not spend more than one hour on newspaper reading.
Static subjects’ revision approach
The static syllabus is the only predictable thing about this exam. But the syllabus is extensive and a consolidated approach should be followed to revise each subject. With four months at disposal, it is important to construct a daily, weekly, and monthly plan to cover all the subjects.
Broadly dividing a span of 90 days (three months) among six major subjects, it is suggested that a candidate should revise (At this phase EDEN IAS Mission Prelims Crash Course helped me a lot and you could also take the help of their MISSION PRELIMS schedule.)
Indian polity and governance in 8 days,
History, Art & Culture in 17 days,
Geography in 8 days,
Economics in 7 days,
Science and technology in 4 days,
Environment and ecology in 6 days.
In the left days from the 90 days, you could re-revise the subjects for a crash course for UPSC prelims 2022
Happy Writing…!!!
